Unique piece of Roker Park history auctioned on Friday 29th July 2011 at Seaham GC

This replica 1960's-70's framed shirt was auctioned at the FIVE HELPING HANDS charity golf day with the Sunderland AFC former players on Fri 29th July at Seaham Golf Club.

It sold for £550 and in total £2,105 was raised for good causes in Seaham.

WHAT MADE THIS SHIRT SO SPECIAL & UNIQUE?

It is only signed by players who played at Roker Park. Within the mount of the frame are the pictures of the players (as they are today) actually signing this shirt (all 38 of them) giving true authenticy of all the signatures. Amongst the signatures are 7 of the 1973 FA Cup final team.

It includes the signatures of the 2 players who hold the record for most club appearances: Jimmy Montgomery (623 apps, total club record) and Len Ashurst (428 apps, record for an outfield player). It includes 6 players from the 1950's. It includes numerous other legends (in fact anyone who played for 'The Lads' is a legend in our eyes). The frame measures a 'Huge' 4ft x 3ft.
